KC Zoo offering private overnight stays through January

The Kansas City Zoo is offering modified private overnight stays for family groups up to 12 people. Visitors will have the option to stay in either the Helzberg Penguin Plaza or Polar Bear Passage. The evening will include a night hike through the Zoo and a movie.



The overnight stays are available on Friday and Saturday nights through January. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and other family activities. The cost is $500. If you are interested, the zoo asks that you call 816.595.1765 or email education@fotzkc.org to book.


Renaissance Festival Village has transformed to Knights of Lights for holidays

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival Facebook page has announced that the Renaissance Village of Canterbury has been transformed to a bright and colorful light spectacle for a drive-through event, Knights of Lights!

The event begins on Friday November 27th and will be running weekends through Christmas. It is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance. Each vehicle will require 1 ticket. Pricing is as follows, 1-7 Passenger Vehicle: $25, 8+ (Jumbo) Vehicle: $45.

Holiday light show using 1000 Intel drones coming to KC Friday

Walmart will be hosting a spectacular holiday light show using 1000 drones that will light up the night sky over KS Speedway tonight. The drones will make up three-dimensional seasonal shapes and characters as they dance to modern and classical Christmas favorites.



The event is free to the public but sold out weeks ago. If you didn’t manage to get a ticket, the company will do a special live stream of the event on their social media pages on Sat., Dec. 5 at 6:40 p.m. CT.



Those in attendance will watch the show from the safety of their own car or a designated viewing area right next to their car.


Mayor’s Christmas Tree arrives in KC tomorrow

The 100′ tree is currently in route from Oregon and will arrive at Crown Center tomorrow at 9am. The tree will be placed in it’s stand on Friday, November 6th at approximately 10am. The tree will be lit during the annual lighting ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. More to come on times for the lighting ceremony.




Crown Center Ice Terrace to open this Friday

The Crown Center Ice Terrace opens up for the season this Friday, Nov 6th, 2020. As with everything this year, there are new rules and regulations.



Reservations are required this year and can be made up to 2 days in advance. There is no same day booking at this time. You can make reservations and read about all the changes here.
