Colorful fireballs to race through the KC skies this week

If you happen to look up on Wednesday night you may just see some colorful fireballs racing through the night sky. The Leonid meteor shower will peak this week and should produce up to 15 meteors per hour. The show will come overnight Wednesday, Nov. 17 into the early morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 18. Peak viewing time will be between midnight and dawn on Wednesday.




There is also a blood moon partial lunar eclipse this week. The moon will enter the Earth’s shadow to create a partial lunar eclipse on the evening of Nov. 18-19. The best viewing time will be right around the peak of the eclipse on Nov. 19 at 3:03 a.m. CT.
