Reports are coming in from down south of the morel season getting underway. Several sightings from Georgia are giving us hope and anticipation for the upcoming season.
We’ve got about a month before the temperatures are prime for morel hunting in Missouri and Kansas. Morels like it when it starts to get around 60 degrees and above during the day, and night temperatures hover around 40 degrees. Morels start popping up when the earth gets between 45 and 50 degrees.
If you have never been morel hunting before, it’s a great way to get some exercise and spend some time in nature. The website The Great Morel has some good tips for beginners.
