New helmet law takes effect in Missouri

Starting today, motorcyclists in MO can ride without a helmet as long as they meet a few requirements. While officers are not permitted to pull you over to check on the requirements, they can check for proof of them during a stop.

To ride without a helmet drivers must be 26 years of age and covered by a health insurance policy or other form of insurance that will provide medical benefits for injuries as a result of an accident.
