There’s a fireworks display tonight in Kansas City

Evangel Church near 103rd and Holmes has rescheduled it’s annual fireworks show for this Saturday. The parking lot will open at 7:30 with the show beginning at 8:30.

This is a drive-in style event and will have plenty of space for people to socially distance. The show may be visible from some surrounding lots on the south side of 435 but I’d get there early to ensure a good spot for viewing.

Pets are not allowed and there will be no concessions available. You can learn more on the Evangel website here.

Kansas City still has several 4th of July celebrations planned

With the recent pandemic forcing most Kansas City area 4th of July celebrations to cancel we were curious as to where we could watch some fireworks this year. After a bit of digging we came across a few that have not canceled.

The Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular will take place this year on July 4th. There will be some changes to the event so be sure to read up on the new format.

The Freedom Fest in Greenwood, MO is canceled this year but they will have a firework display on June 27th. You can find updated information on the city’s website here.

The City of Olathe will be hosting a display as well. The display will take place at the College Boulevard Activity Center at 9:45 p.m. on July 4.

Smithville Lake Fireworks will take place this year on July 4th. The display will take place at Smithville Lake Dam.
