Kansas City is home to the largest living tree in Missouri

Did you know that Kansas City is home to the largest cottonwood tree in Missouri? Based on the formula used by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for measuring record trees, it’s also the state’s largest known living tree of any kind.

You can find this beautiful tree on the Cliff Drive/Kessler Park Disc Golf Course, just west of the old hilltop reservoir. The massive tree has a 344-inch circumference and a trunk diameter of more than nine feet.
