Border War is adding football to the mix and MU fans rejoice

Edit 04/10/20: Sources have said that KU and MU are working on a 4 year agreement that will bring football back into the border war mix. More news is expected at the end of April. This comes as welcomed news to Tiger fans with the basketball programs hopes looking less than favorable against the Jayhawks.

The games will most likely all be played at Arrowhead Stadium. The teams have not met since 2011 when Mizzou left the Big 12 for the SEC. The Tigers won 4 of the last 5 meetings. Missouri leads the series, 54-48-8.

Original Post 10/11/19: Finally local basketball fans are getting what they want. The Border Showdown is officially back between MU and KU. The teams have agreed to renew the rivalry beginning Dec. 12th, 2020 and running for 6 seasons total through the 2026-2026 season.

Dating back to 1907, the rivalry was once the longest continuous rivalry west of the Mississippi. The teams will meet at the Sprint Center for the first and last game of the run and will alternate between Lawrence and Columbia for the other seasons.

Kansas will be the home team in the 2020-21 meeting with MU taking home court for the 2025-26 season.
