After 55 years of service, the Shawnee Mission Park Observation Tower came down today. I, like many of you have some great memories of taking the kids to the top of this tower.
There may be some of you that have other types of memories if you grew up around the tower but we won’t talk about that :). The good news is they are currently building a new tower at Kill Creek Park just south of De Soto that will open this fall. There are also plans to build a new tower in Shawnee Mission Park but not for a few years.
