It’s been a busy news day for Pat Mahomes. Not only did he become the youngest part-owner in pro sports history, he is also the proud owner of a new Ferrari. The news of his purchase came out earlier today via Twitter.
Several people around Kansas City have already reported sightings of Mahomes driving around town.
If you see Mahomes cruising around town be sure to give him a wave and keep your distance. We wouldn’t want anything to happen to our budding dynasty.
With NFL protocols in place and training camp set to begin soon, let’s hope for the best. Regardless of what happens this season…. Let’s Go CHIEFS!!
Some very exciting news came out of Kaufman Stadium today. Pat Mahomes is the newest member of the Kansas City Royals ownership group.
John Sherman, Chairman and CEO, and principal owner of the Royals franchise had this to say, “We are very proud and excited to have Patrick as our partner in the ownership group of this franchise, along with the rest of Kansas City, I have watched Patrick compete and become an extraordinary leader, both on and off the football field.”
Mahomes had the following to say about his latest business venture, “I’m honored to become a part owner of the Kansas City Royals. I love this city and the people of this great town. This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which is something I’m excited to do.”
The Kansas City Royals tied a team record for HRs in a game last night after belting in 6 during their game against Detroit. Last nights hitting display has the Royals in a tie for the HR lead with Atlanta and Detroit at 8 a piece. The outing also placed them in the top 10 for runs scored.
While the hitting clinic was fun to watch, the Royals also sit atop the leaderboard in several categories a fan would rather not see. The Royals are 3rd in the league in strikeouts at 46. This puts the team batting average at .207 which is 23rd in MLB.
After watching this team over the last several days I will say that the current Royals squad does have a “trust the process” feel to it. Dayton Moore has done it in the past and I’d bet he can do it again. Let’s Go Royals!
Drastic Measures cocktail lounge has opened up in Shawnee, KS. This new spot is serving up delicious cocktails and good vibes at the corner of Johnson Drive and Neiman Rd.
The mixologists at Drastic Measures have created a bright, upbeat, complex and diverse menu that is made with care to be approachable to all patrons. The menu has a cocktail for everyone and if not, they will create the perfect drink for you.
People often think they are a speakeasy because of the way the entrance is setup. This has actually helped to limit the amount of people that can get in and has been very beneficial during the pandemic.
The building was constructed in 1850 and from the front appears to be a random office. Walk inside though and you’re surrounded by natural stone walls, geometric tables and lighting, live plants and a relaxed atmosphere.
Drastic Measures creates all of their mixers in house so your gin & tonic will be made with a house made lime and lemongrass tonic. They are a spirits only establishment so don’t expect a pinot or a beer.
Currently the bar is cash only but they do have an ATM on site. They do not take reservations and work on a first come, first served basis. You can view the cocktail menu and learn more on the Drastic Measures website.
It appears as though one of our favorite Kansas City BBQ restaurants is getting ready to open a play area for your furry friends. Woodyard is unveiling Woofyard, which appears to be a play area for patrons dogs.
Woodyard shared the news today in a video posted to both Instagram and Facebook. No word yet on what date the new area will be open for use.
